A new take on a plaque
Since the Renaissance, the plaque has been used as a form of medal, made in gilded metal, with relief and associated text.
BACKGROUND
Once a year The Ministry of Local Government and Modernization pay tribute to an example of outstanding architecture through ‘The Norwegian Building Authority award’. This honorary award is highly recognized and highlights our latest and finest reference buildings — buildings that help to elevate, renew and develop construction quality locally and nationally.
SOLUTION
We created a hand-molded bronze plaque that plays with perspective, light and shadow that naturally corrodes and ages over time, making each plaque unique and one of a kind. The result is a two dimensional medal that appears three dimensional to the eye, mounted subtly on the wall as a marker of the high-ranked architectural award.
